On April 16th, 2024, NSBM Green University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. E A Weerasinghe and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, visited the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. They discussed with Dr V. Misquita, Senior Director of International Partnerships, and Dr Indika Edirisinghe, Associate Director for Nutrition Research, for potential academic collaboration.

During their time at Illinois Tech, the NSBM team had the chance to witness some of the facilities and research initiatives, including those led by Professor Indika Edirisinghe in Food Science and Nutrition. Illinois Tech, situated in the bustling city of Chicago, is renowned for its focus on technology education. It offers various engineering, science, architecture, business, design, human sciences, applied technology, and law degrees.
Sri Lankan-born Professor Siva Sivananthan, who coordinates the visits, joined the delegation. This visit signifies a significant stride towards enhancing academic collaborations and opening educational avenues for NSBM students in pathways leading to USA degrees.
