NSBM Green Univeristy Vice Chancellor Prof. E A Weerasinghe and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, who are currently in the USA, visited Northern Illinois University (NIU) on 12th of April 2024 and discussed with the College of Business to explore potential partnerships.

Discussions included providing NIU degree pathways at NSBM and possible initiatives such as research collaborations and doctoral programs. During the visit, the NSBM team had the opportunity to witness the facilities and research initiatives of NIU and interacted with academic staff leading those initiatives.
Dean NIU College of Business Dr. Denise D. Schoenbachler, leading academics and other administrators participated in the discussions. Sri Lankan-born Professor Siva Sivananthan, founder and CEO of Sivananthan Laboratories, a high-tech business incubator in Bolingbrook, Illinois, who facilitated the event, also participated in the visit.

This visit marks a significant step towards fostering academic collaborations and enriching educational opportunities for students at NSBM in the USA, and these programmes will launch very soon at NSBM.
