U-Sports 2022 concludes on a high note
Bringing alive spiritful performances of university sports stars in the final events of the championship, the Grand Final of U-Sports 2022 brought about an end to a series of competitive tournaments of 12 sports that continued over two weeks with the participation of 500+ athletes representing many Sri Lankan universities all across the country.
The ceremony was glamoured with the graceful participation of Deputy Vice-Chancellor of NSBM Green University, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head of Academic and Quality Assurance, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Dean of Faculty of Business, Ms Thilini De Silva, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Chandana Perera, Dean of Faculty of Science, Dr. Nuwanthi Katuwavila, Head of Student Affairs, Mr. Kasun Dissanayake, staff members of NSBM, and officials representing invited universities.
The Overall Championship of U-Sports 2022 was won by Kothalawala Defense University (KDU).
NSBM Green University emerged as the Champions of Rugby and Badminton tournaments.
NSBM U-Sports is an annual event of NSBM organized to create links between Sri Lankan universities focused on promoting sportive spirits among undergraduates. The event for 2022 commenced on 20th September 2022 with the inauguration ceremony and a series of sports events happened throughout showcasing the spirit of Sri Lankan university sports stars representing many universities around the island.
