The TECHskill-UP workshop series, organized by the Circle of Information System Sciences attached to the Department of Software Engineering and Information System Sciences, launched successfully for three consecutive days led by industry experts and NSBM students on 26th,27th and 28th June 2024 at the Faculty of Computing premises. The event garnered active contributions from faculty members at the Faculty of Computing, alongside enthusiastic participation from computing undergraduates.

The inaugural Workshop 01 featured insightful sessions led by industry experts, highlighting cutting-edge topics essential for today’s technology landscape. Mr. Dasun Kariyawasam, Associated Consultant at MilaniumIT ESP, delivered an enlightening IoT session, while Mr. Salitha Chathuranga, Senior Software Engineer at Sysco Labs, and Mr. Prasanna Deshappriya, Associate Technical Lead at Sysco Labs, conducted a comprehensive MongoDB hands-on workshop.

The Day 02 featured sessions on Development of AI using Azure AI led by Ms. Ayodya Weerabahu and Onaliy Jayawardena, Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador (Beta) and Mr. Rajitha Egodaarachchi, Program Manager at Calcey conducted session on Mastering in Scrum.

The final day was exciting, with students gaining hands-on experience in DevOps Foundations from Basic to Mastery. Mr. Sahan Rathnayake, DevOps Engineer Fortude, gave out the knowledge, and Mr. Nikila Fernando,Site Reliability Engineer Fortude, discussed Cloud Mastery with Azure.
