Kaumadee Samarakoon is a Senior Lecturer attached to the School of Engineering. She obtained her BSc Engineering (Hons) degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Moratuwa in 2013 and obtained her MSc in Electrical Engineering also from University of Moratuwa in 2017. Currently she is pursuing towards her PhD at University of Moratuwa. Kaumadee has served as a Lecturer at SLTC and SAITM during her service of 5 years in academia. Additionally, she has worked with Pubudu Engineering (Pvt) Ltd as a Design Engineer.

Her research interests are intermittency of renewable energy and mitigation techniques. Her ongoing researches are on solar power output smoothing techniques with machine learning approach.
