The preliminary rounds of the NSBM Vivada ’23 inter-school debating tournament were successfully held at the university premises on 7th October 2023. This event witnessed active participation from more than 200 students representing prominent schools from across the entire island.
For this edition of the tournament, a central theme was carefully selected: “Addressing Economic Challenges for Sustainable Development.” The primary objective is to provide a platform where young minds can channel their innovative ideas and contribute to the sustainable development of Sri Lanka. Consequently, both the Debating and Oratory Club and the Department of Economics and Decision Sciences joined forces to organize this event in parallel with the 7th-anniversary celebrations of our university.
This initiative underscores our dedication to fostering intellectual discourse and offering a space for youth to actively shape the economic future of our nation.
