In celebrating the culmination of the 7th Anniversary Religious Blessing Week, an overnight Pirith Chanting ceremony was held on 26th October 2023 at NSBM Green University. This spiritual observance was carried out to invoke blessings upon staff, students, alumni and the future journey of the university.
The venerable Maha Sangha were ushered to the NSBM Student Centre in a colourful procession, preceded by traditional drummers and flag-bearers. The Vice Chancellor of NSBM Green University, Prof, E. A. Weerasinghe, carried the sacred relic casket to the premises with utmost respect.
The ceremony saw the participation of Minister of Transport and Highway, Hon. (Dr) Bandula Gunawardane, NSBM Top Management, Deans of the faculties, Heads of the departments, staff, students and alumni.
Concluding the Pirith Chanting, “Heel Dane” (morning alms) were humbly offered to venerable maha sangha on the morning of 27th October 2023.
During this momentous occasion, the maha sangha graciously bestowed their blessings upon NSBM staff, students and university’s promising future, while acknowledging the positive impact it has already made both nationally and internationally.
The occasion saw the engagement of Vice Chancellor, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Deans of the faculties, Heads of the departments, academic and non-academic staff and students.
