Traversa’23, held on September 27th at the NSBM Green University Auditorium, was a distinguished event hosted by the International Center for Tourism and Hospitality (ICTH) of NSBM Green University in honour of World Tourism Day. The gathering brought together esteemed industry leaders to engage in insightful discussions on tourism and sustainable investment. 

The event featured Mr. Dinuka Sumithrarachchi, Director of Operations at BCD Travel Asia-Pacific Service Centre, as the keynote speaker. Additionally, a panel of esteemed professionals shared their perspectives on ‘Investing in People, Planet, and Prosperity’ within the Sri Lankan Tourism Industry. The panellists included Ms. Gayangi Wirasinha, Managing Director of Abercrombie & Kent, Sri Lanka, and Committee Member of the Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO), Ms. Sriyangani Dhanapala, Director of Brand Development at Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, and Mr. Mathi Thayanan, Country Coordinator in Tourism Market Development Facility, Australia. 

The event also featured the Grand Finale of ‘Destination Sri Lanka Episode 02,’ in partnership with the Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO). This remarkable event was skillfully organized by the dedicated students of ICTH.
