TRAVERSA ’24, the annual flagship event of the International Center for Tourism and Hospitality (ICTH), celebrating World Tourism Day under the theme ‘Tourism & Peace’ successfully concluded on 27th September 2024 at the NSBM Green University Premises. The event also marked the Grand Finale of ‘Destination Sri Lanka – Episode 03’, in which Team Infinity represented by UGC 23.1/22.2 Tourism Students emerged as the champions, bypassing Team Mavericks by a few points.
The event gathered industry experts, tourism undergraduates, and lecturers to participate in insightful discussions regarding the importance of peace in international tourism. For the panel discussion, Ms. Parami Fernando, a PR Consultant at the House of PR Colombo, Mr. Chinthana Dumiduhewa, a Lead Trainer at the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), and Mr. Nalaka Amaratunga, the CEO of the Destination Management Sector at John Keells Holdings PLC joined us on board.
TRAVERSA ’24 was graced by the presence of Mr. Venura Colombage, the Head of the Department of Marketing and Tourism Management, Mr. Lasitha De Silva, and Ms. Senelie Gunaratne, the lecturers in charge of the ICTH, academics of the Faculty of Business, the past presidents of the ICTH: Ms. Sahandee Meegama and Mr. Nuhan Pallawela, and the champions of Destination Sri Lanka – Episode 02, Team ZERO.75.
