Day 1 of NSBM Convocation Week 2023 witnessed a momentous celebration as the graduates of NSBM’s Faculty of Computing were conferred with UGC approved degree programs. The ceremony, held during Session 03, marked the culmination of the academic journey for outstanding individuals who completed BSc in Management Information Systems (Special), BSc (Hons) in Software Engineering, and BSc (Hons) in Computer Science.

The awarding of the degrees to the next generation of NSBM Computing and IT experts was done by Vice-Chancellor of NSBM, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe. The awarding was accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Computing, Dr. Chaminda Wijesinghe.

The presence of the Head of Academic and Quality Assurance of NSBM, Prof Baratha Dodankotuwa, Deans, Academics, Parents and well-wishers further glamoured this special occasion.

The session was glamoured by the Keynote Address of Dr Kingsley Bernard, the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EBD), who shared insights and inspiration with the graduates.

The individual accomplishments of the graduates were highlighted during the ceremony:

• Ms. Sanuli Bimanthie Weerasinghe – “The Overall Best Performer of Faculty of Business and the Best Performer of Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Software Engineering Degree”
• Mr. J. M. Don Dinith Kreshan Jayamanna – “The Best Performer of Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems (Special) Degree”
• Ms. Himasha Nalindi Semage – “The Best Performer of Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Computer Science Degree”
