‘BizWizards’, the first-ever inter-university business case study analysis competition, was held on 18th October 2023 at NSBM premises. The competition was hosted by the Department of Accounting and Finance in collaboration with the Student Circle of Accounting and Finance (SCAF), DAF Pro unit and CIMA & AICPA Sri Lanka. The inaugural championship of ‘BizWizards’ marked a significant milestone in the realm of inter-university business case study analysis competitions, with 14 dynamic both state and non-state university teams competing for the title of ‘BizWizards Champions,’ ultimately won by Team “05Digitz” from the Decision Science Department, Faculty of Business, University of Moratuwa.
The event was graced with the presence of esteemed luminaries from the business and academic worlds, including Mr. Eranga Rukmal, the Head of Business Operations Support Systems at Axiata Digital Labs, Mr. Chamaka Ranasinghe, a distinguished Product Manager at Emapta Global and Visiting Lecturer in CIMA, Risk Management, Computing, and Business Management, and Ms. Sanuji Ranawaka, the Acting Head of Finance at NSBM Green University as the judging panel for the competition. This collective gathering further graced along with Ms. Thilini De Silva, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Ms. Anne Pathiranage, Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance, external university academics, departmental academics, and students.
