Honouring the exceptional commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability, NSBM Green University received an award under the category of “Best Government Institution that Contributes to the Environment” at the Presidential Environment Awards 2021-2022. The award was received by the Vice Chancellor of NSBM Green University, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe at the Award Ceremony held on 28th April 2023 at BMICH under the patronage of His Excellency the President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The Presidential Environment Awards is organised annually by the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) under the guidance of the Ministry of Environment to award state honours to industries, organizations and individuals who have made unique contributions to sustainable development through environmental conservation and protection.
