The Project Management Circle of NSBM Green University organized Project 360: The Project Management Day, an event distinguished by its theme, “From Rural Roots to Modern Marvels.” The event thoughtfully addressed two core concepts: the comprehensive lifecycle of projects from inception to fruition and the potential for projects to be sustainably integrated into rural areas, enhancing local standards of living.
This significant gathering featured a keynote speech addressed by Mr. Channa Gunawardhana (CEO of Dankotuwa Porcelain PLC), whose substantive insights illuminated the day’s proceedings. The centrepiece of the event was the launch of a magazine, “Project 360”, which stands as a historic first for the Project Management Circle. This landmark publication signifies a decisive moment in their dedication to elevating and enriching the field of Project Management.
Adding to the occasion’s distinction, the day was honored by the presence of Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Professor Baratha Dodankotuwa, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Ms. Thilini De Silva, Former Head of the Department of Operations and Logistics, Ms. Maneesha Dias, Head of the Department of Operations and Logistics, Mr. Shaja Musthaffa and other esteemed faculty members.
The day’s agenda also included an insightful panel discussion, where esteemed panelists shared their expertise: Professor Asoka Perera (Senior Lecturer at the University of Moratuwa), Miss Roshani Dharmaratne (Director of Business Development at Hayleys Fentons Limited) and Mr. Saman Kandanearachchi (President of the Project Management Institute in Sri Lanka). Their contributions were invaluable in deepening the understanding of effective Project Management practices.
Under the astute guidance of Lecturers in Charge, Mr. Maleesha Edirisinghe and Ms. Lakni Horanage, the Project Management Circle concluded this remarkable day with insightful discussions and a renewed sense of purpose.
