NSBM Green University joined as a Knowledge Partner of the Career Guidance Meet Mart of Sancharaka Udawa 2024, the Travel and Tourism Fair organized by the Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO) in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotional Bureau (SLTPB). Took place on the 17th and 18th of May at BMICH, this exhibition served as a unique platform for both B2B and B2C sectors, and it promotes interaction between industry stakeholders.

The Career Guidance Meet Mart was a new addition to this year’s edition of Sancharaka Udawa, as it targeted undergraduates and youth interested in joining the tourism industry to receive career guidance and employment opportunities. NSBM Green University was invited to be a Knowledge Partner of the Career Guidance Meet Mart amongst Rajarata University of Sri Lanka and Uva Wellassa University.

Ms. Senelie Gunaratne, an academic of the Faculty of Business under the Department of Marketing, Tourism, and Multimedia represented the university at the event on 18th May 2024. Ms Gunaratne received the wonderful opportunity at the pre-event seminar to address the audience on the topic: Empowering the Younger Generation in Tourism.

Sancharaka Udawa also provided a volunteer opportunity for the International Center for Tourism and Hospitality (ICTH) of NSBM for the second consecutive year. A team of students from the ICTH represented the university on both days of the exhibition to aid in the smooth operation of the event, where they were able to gain invaluable insights, expand their networks, and receive first-hand experience in the dynamic world of travel and tourism.
