NSBM Green University hosted a special session for a group of students from JMC College International on August 15th, 2024, focusing on the concept of “Green Roofs”. The session was expertly facilitated by Mr. Maleesha Edirisinghe, Lecturer attached to the Faculty of Business, featuring both theoretical and practical learning experiences.

 

The session began with an informative lecture, where students explored the principles of green roofs and their benefits. The session then progressed to a practical phase, where students had the opportunity to witness NSBM’s sustainability efforts firsthand. During a guided tour of the campus, students observed various eco-friendly initiatives, including green roofs, green walls, solar panels, stormwater collection techniques, and bee hives. The session concluded with a creative group activity, where students applied their newfound knowledge to design and build model green roofs, blending theory with innovation.
