NSBM Green University, the nation’s premier degree-awarding institute, successfully concluded the inauguration ceremony to officially welcome the newly enrolled batch for the 2025 intake of its undergraduate degree programmes. The ceremony, held on February 10, 2025, at the NSBM premises, brought together a distinguished gathering of NSBM staff led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, esteemed guests, parents, and students.

The inauguration ceremony marked the commencement of academic journeys for over 800 students enrolling in 60+ undergraduate degree programmes offered by NSBM’s Faculties of Business, Computing, Engineering, and Science.

The ceremony unfolded in three sessions, providing an immersive experience for all participants. It featured keynote speeches, presentations, and sessions designed to enlighten new entrants on essential procedures, operations, and other key aspects of their academic journey at NSBM Green University.

Adding prestige to the event, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, Vice Chancellor of NSBM Green University; Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Deputy Vice Chancellor; Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance; faculty Deans; and other esteemed academic and non-academic staff graced the occasion with their presence.

Each session of the ceremony comprised inspiring speeches delivered by esteemed Keynote Speakers for the day; Prof. Ajantha Dharmasiri, Senior Professor in Management, Former Director and the Chairman of the Board of Management, PIM, Former President of CMI; Dr. Ruchira Wijesena- Former Senior Research Scientist- Institute of Technology, University of Moratuwa and CIPM Sri Lanka; and Dr. Sunil Navarathne, Director- Lakehouse/Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited – ANCL. Their insights and experiences brought a unique perspective to the gathering, which instilled a sense of inspiration and motivation in the hearts and minds of new entrants.

At the ceremony, the new entrants were congratulated on selecting NSBM to pursue their higher education and also encouraged to benefit from the state-of-the-art amenities, ultra-modern research facility and fully-fledged international university setting at NSBM
