NSBM Green University unfolds the 5th International Conference on Business Innovation
The 5th International Conference on Business Innovation (ICOBI) organized by NSBM Green University was held on 25th November at NSBM Auditorium.
Held for the fifth consecutive year, ICOBI 2022 was unveiled under the topical theme of “Accelerating Growth Towards SDG Accomplishment”, focusing on building a discourse on how Sri Lanka’s economic growth can be accelerated for the accomplishment of UN Sustainable Development Goals(SGDs) with the implementation of sustainable strategies to encapsulate the challenges in diverse disciplines.
The conference format of ICOBI 2022 consisted of the inauguration ceremony in the morning with parallel sessions and poster presentations in the afternoon. It was graced by the presence of the Vice Chancellor of NSBM Green University, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head-Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Deans of the faculties, international and local researchers, industry experts, entrepreneurs, academics and students of NSBM.
The inauguration ceremony was also accompanied by several insightful speeches and research presentations, including two keynote speeches. Among the two eminent keynote speakers, Prof. Henrik Hansson, a leading academic and head researcher attached to the Department of Computer & System Sciences at Stockholm University, Sweden, presented his insights and analysis on the topic of “Current Global State – Options and Innovations” whilst the topic of “Complexity, Science and Technology in Sustainable Economic Development” was addressed in the keynote speech delivered by Prof. R.M. Gamini Rajapakshe, Senior Professor of Chemistry at the University of Peradeniya.
This timely and informative research conference further served as a knowledge-sharing platform to share new research results, insightful ideas and new perspectives on a wide range of topics related to Business Innovation and Sustainable Development, comprising parallel sessions and poster presentations under eight specific sub-themes. The research articles presented at ICOBI 2021 were published in the ICOBI conference proceedings and the International Journal of Contemporary Business Research by NSBM Green University.
