NSBM students of the UGC 23.2 and 24.1 Data Science batches recently participated in an insightful industry visit to the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) as part of their final assignment for the module Ethics in Data Science (DS206.3).

The visit featured an engaging and informative presentation led by Mr. Chandrakanth Jayasinghe, Chief Market Operations Officer; Mr. Chinthaka Weerasinghe, Assistant Vice President – Information Security; and the talented technology team at CSE. The session explored key topics such as the organization’s digital transformation strategies, information security protocols, and ethical practices in data science. It offered students an opportunity to learn directly from industry leaders about their operations, digital approaches, and measures taken to ensure information security and ethical standards in data science.

This valuable learning experience was organized by Ms. Dulanjali Wijesekara of the Department of Computer and Data Science, with esteemed participation from Prof. Chaminda Wijesinghe, Head of the Department, along with faculty members Ms. Hiruni Weerasinghe and Mr. Nadana Swasthi.
