NSBM celebrates 6 remarkable years of the glorious journey
NSBM Green University celebrated its 6th anniversary on Tuesday, 26th October 2022. Commemorating six glorious years of the victorious journey, the anniversary celebration was marked with a prestigious ceremony held at NSBM Green University premises in Pitipana, Homagama.
This ceremonious commemoration commenced with the graceful arrival of the esteemed panel of guests, including Mr. M Nihal Ranasinghe, Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr. Vivek Gupta, First Secretary (Education), High Commission of India, Colombo, Ms. Manori Mallikarachchi, Director General, Economic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the university premises.
Hon. Minister and the other guests were welcomed by Prof. E A Weerasinghe, the Vice-Chancellor of NSBM Green University and brought to the “Global Youth Camp 2023 – Sri Lanka” logo plaque near the main entrance.
As the guests unveiled the logo plaque, Global Youth Camp 2023 (GYC 2023) was officially launched. Subsequently, they were led to the NSBM Auditorium, where the main ceremony was held with NSBM students delighting the audience with vibrant dancing acts and musical performances.
The event was further glamoured by Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Top Management, Deans, Heads, Academic and Non-Academic staff, government officials, industry representatives, students and wellwishers of NSBM.
Also, to invoke religious blessings for this 6-year milestone and the long journey forward, the religious societies of NSBM organized a series of spiritual practices and sessions.This comprised an Islamic Prayer session organized by NSBM Islamic Society, Hindu Pooja by Hindu Society and Holy Mass by Catholic and Christian Society.The anniversary celebration shall conclude with the all-night Pirith Chanting ceremony followed by the morning alms-giving.
