Lanka Minerals & Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. collaborated with the Department of Operations and Logistics of NSBM Green University on a consulting project to understand their areas for improvement related to warehouse operations and to provide a workshop on warehouse management to their warehouse employees. This initiative aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of the team members of Lanka Minerals & Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. while fostering stronger ties between academia and industry partners.
The workshop, which took place on March 6th, 2024, delved into essential principles of stores management. Participants gained insights into inventory management techniques, warehouse best practices and implementing KPIs, health and safety aspects of warehousing, warehouse layout planning and technology integration in warehousing.
The event concluded with a certificate awarding ceremony, graced by the Vice-Chancellor of NSBM Green University Prof. E.A. Weerasinghe and Dean Faculty of Business Ms. Thilini De Silva. Attendees received certificates acknowledging their completion of the workshop, highlighting their commitment to professional development.
