In celebrating World Poetry Day, NSBM library, in collaboration with the Literature and Media Clubs, hosted a mesmerising event on 26th March 2024, filled with the rhythmic melodies of poetry and the vibrant spirit of creativity.

The event saw the presence of esteemed guests, including the Vice Chancellor, Prof. E. A. Weerasingha, the Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, the Head of Student Affairs, Ms. Aushadarie Kaushalya and the special guest poet, Mr. Sunanda Karunarathne.  

Organised under the guidance of Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, the MICs of Literature and Media Clubs, Mr. Hasantha Dissanayaka and Ms. Fairoza Fairooz, along with the Assistant Librarian Ms. Senani Karunarathne and the library team, played pivotal roles in guiding and nurturing the talents of our students.

The highlight of the event was the “Kavyalanka” competition, that showcased their poetic talents within the NSBM community.
