NSBM Green University witnessed the return of YAKARI Episode 03, the Street Food Festival on 27th June 2024. The event was well organized by the Plymouth Tourism undergraduates of the 23.2 batch under the Department of Marketing and Tourism Management as an essential component of their module, Food and Beverage Operations. YAKARI Episode 03 was held in collaboration with the International Center for Tourism and Hospitality (ICTH) and Foodies Club of NSBM Green University.

 

This event was organized under the fantasy genre, where the university witnessed the emergence of exceptional creativity and culinary skills of the 23.2 Plymouth Tourism batch through stall themes such as Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Alice in Wonderland, Game of Thrones, Maleficent, Corpse Bride, Medusa, and Hotel Transylvania. 

 

YAKARI Episode 03 welcomed the presence of the esteemed guests, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa – Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Ms. Thilini De Silva – Dean of the Faculty of Business, Ms. Piyumi Jayalath – Registrar – Examination, Ms. Yashodha Wettasinghe – Manager – Human Resources, Mr. Venura Colombage – Head of Marketing and the Head of the Department of Marketing and Tourism Management, and the Lecturers in Charge of the ICTH, Mr. Lasitha De Silva and Ms. Senelie Gunaratne. 

 

The event concluded with the awarding ceremony in which the team, Sailor’s Store emerged as the winners of the Best Stall Category, and the team, The Shire secured the title of Runners-Up.
