The Grand Finale of Crescendo’25, the Inter-School Choir Competition organized by the Music Club of NSBM took place on February 27th, 2025, at the NSBM Auditorium, featuring five outstanding school choirs from across the island: St. Anthony’s College, Kandy, Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya, Colombo, Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo, Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa, Good Shepherd Convent, Colombo, each delivering exceptional performances.

 

This grand event was graced by the presence of key figures from NSBM Green University, including the Vice Chancellor, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe; Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa; and Deans of the faculties, NSBM Staff, NSBM Music Club students, parents, and well-wishers.

 

The competition also saw a panel of esteemed judges, comprising choral conductor, singer, designer and educator Mr. Harin Amirthanathan; Senior chorister in Soul Sounds Music Academy Ms. Rachel Hettiarachchi, along with Mr. Harith Shihan, Founder, Director and Chief Lecturer of Harith Shihan Music Academy specializing in piano, music and music theory.

 

After a series of stellar performances, the results were announced in both categories. St. Anthony’s College, Kandy emerged as champions in the Boys’ category, with Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa securing the 1st Runner-up position. In the Girls’ category, Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo claimed the championship title, while Good Shepherd Convent, Colombo finished as 1st Runner-up.
