The Islamic Society of NSBM marked a historic milestone with its first-ever Badging Ceremony, officially appointing the new board for the term 2025/26 under the leadership of President Amaan Anver. This significant event not only celebrated the society’s growth but also symbolized the beginning of a new chapter dedicated to unity, service, and leadership.
The ceremony was graced by esteemed guests, including Prof. J. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance; Ms. Thilini De Silva, Dean of the Faculty of Business; Dr. Piyumi Wickramasinghe, Dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies and Professional Advancement; and Ms. Aushadharie Kaushalya, Head of Student Affairs. Also in attendance were the society’s dedicated Masters-in-Charge, Dr. Mohamed Shafraz, Head of the Department of Software Engineering and Information Systems, and Mr. Shaja Mustaffa, Head of the Department of Operations and Logistics, whose guidance and support continue to strengthen the society’s vision.
The event also paid tribute to the outgoing board of 2024, led by President Umair Ashker, in recognition of their dedication and commitment to laying the foundation for the Islamic Society at NSBM. Their hard work and passion have paved the way for future leaders, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire those who follow. With a new team at the helm, the society now embarks on a journey of growth and service, carrying forward its mission to foster a strong sense of community, inclusivity, and development.
