The students from the Department of Accounting and Finance, accompanied by an academic member, had an exceptional opportunity to visit the DFCC Bank Head Office on 30th September 2024. This immersive experience offered an in-depth look into the critical areas shaping modern banking and finance, guided by a panel of industry experts who shared their knowledge and experience on a range of critical topics.
Mr. Wajira Punchihewa, Vice President of Branch Network and Operations, offered a deep dive into the Roles of Banks in the Financial System, while, Mr. Charith Rodrigo, Vice President of Integrated Risk Management and Asset & Liability Management, discussed Personal Finance Management & Products. Mr. Vidarsha Darmasena, Vice President of Strategic Planning, explained the significance of CRIB (Credit Information Bureau) which was followed by the session of Mr. Pradeepam Sivaligan, Assistant Vice President of Digital Banking & Strategy, who highlighted the transformative role of Technological Innovations & AI in Banking. Further, Ms. Gayashi Wijesundara, Assistant Manager of Sustainability, shed light on Sustainable Banking Practices.
