The Faculty of Science at NSBM Green University proudly celebrated its first year of excellence in the journey of empowering the nation with young science graduates.

In celebration of this remarkable milestone, the Faculty of Science (FOS) hosted special celebratory events on May 31, 2023 which included the Young Scientists’ Day held in the morning at the Main Auditorium.

This joyous occasion was graced by the Vice Chancellor of NSBM, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Dean of Faculty of Science, Dr. Nuwanthi Katuwawila, Deans of other faculties, academics and Non-academics of NSBM.

The event was further enlivened by two inspiring guest speeches by Dr. Ruchira Wijesena, Senior Lecturer, Institute of Technology, University of Moratuwa and Mr. Kushan Amarasinghe, CEO, Finagle Lanka. In parallel to the event, FOS launched the second issue of the Science Magazine “IN VISION”.

The 1st anniversary celebration of FOS concluded with an exciting talent show; “Warna Deha” which opened a platform for undergraduates of the faculty to showcase their talents in singing, dancing and drama.
