The 2nd Annual Science Research Symposium, organized by the Faculty of Science at NSBM Green University, was held on October 15, 2024, in NSBM Green Boardroom. Chaired by Dr. Udeshika Yapa Bandara, the symposium marked a significant milestone in fostering research engagement among students and paving the way for future academic publications.
The event featured Dr. Laksiri Weerasinghe, a distinguished researcher and senior academic member of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, as the keynote speaker. Dr. Weerasinghe shared invaluable insights that inspired all attendees and sparked discussions on innovative research methodologies.
The occasion was graced by esteemed guests including Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, Vice Chancellor of NSBM Green University; Dr. Nuwanthi Katuwavila, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Ms. Thilini De Silva, Dean of the Faculty of Business; Dr. Damayanthi Dahanayake, Head of the Research Council; Dr. Miruna Rabindrakumar, Head of the Department of Life Sciences; Dr. Madhavi Hewadikaram, Head of the Department of Health Sciences; and other academic staff members, all of whom contributed to the success of this event.
The judging panel comprised esteemed academics: Professor Rohini De Silva from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Colombo, Dr. Samindi Jayawickrama from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and Dr. Umayal Branawan from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Colombo.
