Faculty of Computing celebrated the opening of their “e-Shop” at the Business Center
On the 7th of January 2020, the Faculty of Computing celebrated the opening of their “e-Shop” at the Business Center. Prof. E A Weerasinghe officially declared open the e-Shop with the presence of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Deans, Heads, Academics, and Administrative staff and Business partners, Singer Sri Lanka, Daraz, and Thingerbits.
The “e-Shop” concept was initiated by Prof.Chaminda Rathnayaka, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of NSBM and supported by Ms. Pavithra Subashini, a Lecturer of the faculty and Dr.Rasika Ranaweera, the Dean of the faculty.
This timely initiative led the Association of Computer Science team to transform the Faculty Business Center to a fruitful “e-Shop”. The faculty appreciates the special contributions by Mr.Hirusha Randunu and Ms.Samidi Sanjana, especially in being instrumental in the forging of partnerships with Daraz, Singer Sri Lanka and Thingerbits Private limited.
The main objective of this venture is to provide undergraduates at NSBM Green University Town every aspect of their technological needs. e-Shop shall be the go-to spot for all tech solutions providing world-renowned brands in laptops, desktops, workstations, mobile phones, computer accessories, mobile phone accessories, all-inclusive of company warranty including software and hardware assistance. Apart from that, it provides the facility to configure your own dream PC with the necessary tech expertise at a competitive price. Skilled services such as graphic design, gaming platforms, workstations, etc. will be provided on special discount rates to the undergraduates of NSBM. This initiative will also encourage student entrepreneurship as it provides an ideal platform to promote their own products and services to potential customers.
