The Department of Legal Studies hosted the Departmental Inauguration of Batch 24.2 which was held on the 30th of July 2024 at the Green Boardroom, NSBM Green University.

The highlight of the event was the keynote address by Prof. Nigel Firth, Associate Professor of Law, University of Plymouth, UK. Prof. Nigel addressed the enthusiastic LLB undergraduates on the career paths and the future of the law field. This session offered both practical insights and motivational support to the LLB undergraduates as they prepare for their careers in law.

The event was graced by the presence of Ms. Thilini De Silva, Dean – Faculty of Business, Prof. Shanthi Segarajasingham, Head – Department of Legal Studies and Lecturers attached to the Department of Legal Studies.

Further adding to the glamour of the event, the LLB undergraduates displayed their oratory skills and critical thinking by a friendly debate among the LLB students. The topic was “The absence of a codified Penal Code leads to uncertainty in Criminal Law,” which sparked a dynamic exchange of ideas among the students.
