The Department of Accounting and Finance organized an enlightening awareness session for first and second-year students in Accounting, Finance, Economics, and Business Analytics (batches 24.1, 23.2, 23.1, and 22.2) on 17th July 2024. This session aimed to share valuable insights on current and future trends in these fields and prepare students to master them.

 

The panel discussion, themed “Shaping Tomorrow’s Financial Leaders: Skills and Insights for Aspiring Accountants,” featured esteemed panellists Mr. Thilan Sampath, Country Head of Uzabase Sri Lanka and Executive Officer, Head of Content at SPEEDA, and Mr Lahiru Perera, Digital Solutions Lead at MAS Intimates. Additionally, Mr. Sadeepa Balasooriya, Intermediate Accountant at Growthprof and DAF alumni, shared valuable insights in his session “From Classroom to Boardroom: Alumni Experiences.”

 

The session was graced by the participation of Ms. Anne Pathiranage, Head of the Department, the academic panel, and over 300 enthusiastic students.
