ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
To qualify for admission to undertake NSBM’s Year One, applicants must complete one of the following:
- Sri Lankan A Levels: 3 unit passes in the first attempt
- Sri Lankan A Levels: 2 unit passes + Completion of NSBM Certificate Programme
- Sri Lankan O Levels: 6 unit passes (with 3 units at credit level) + Completion of NSBM Foundation Programme
- Completion of Edexcel or BTEC Level 3 Certified International Foundation Programme (* subject to approval of VU Course Chair)
- Completion of any other foreign university-affiliated Foundation Programme (* subject to approval of VU Course Chair)
The English language entry requirement

- AS Level subjects: General Paper, English Language; or
- A Level subject: English Language
- Three Passes in GCE Advanced Level Examination and one of the following examinations or equivalent foreign qualifications:
- GCE Advanced Level Examination conducted by the Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka
- GCE Advanced Level Examination conducted by Pearson Edexcel, UK (London)
- International Advanced Level Examination conducted by Pearson Edexcel, UK (London)
- GSE Advanced Level Examination conducted by Cambridge International Examinations, UK
- The English language entry requirement
- Minimum IELTS score of 6.0 (Academic) with no band score of less than 6.0 in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking
