The Grand Finale of කථික’ 24, debating competition organized by the Business Law Society of NSBM Green University took place on the 01st October 2024 at the NSBM Green Boardroom. This highly anticipated event showcased the culmination of a rigorous competition among some of the brightest minds from all faculties of NSBM Green University. The event concludes with the judges’ deliberation and the announcement of the winning team, culminating in applause and celebration.

Team Moon Walkers comprising Isuri Wijemanne (Team Leader), R. M. S. E. Rathnayaka and G. H. M. K. T. Herath emerged as the winners of කථික’ 24, while Team Remark Makers became Runners comprising of team members Prabod Asmagoda (Team Leader), U. K. D. Binuri Thamoda, S. N. Wettasinghe and H. D. T. H. Ranathunga.

This memorable event was graced by Ms. Thilini De Silva, Dean Faculty of Business, Prof. Shanthi Segarajasingham, Head of the Department of Legal Studies and other lecturers attached to Faculty of Business.

The judging panel for the event consisted of Mr. Gimhan Sooriyabandara, Attorney-at-Law, Founder and President of Colombo Independent Debaters’ Society, Mr Namal Palansuriya, Skilled Debater and Educator, Mr Mevan Nanayakkara, Attorney at law and Ms. Samithri Wanniachy, Attorney-at-Law and Lecturer in Charge of the Business Law Society.

This prestigious occasion not only highlights the art of debate but also fosters critical thinking, public speaking skills, and camaraderie among the debaters.
