The Debate workshop as an initial stage of  “කථික’24” organized by the Business Law Society of NSBM Green University took place on the 23rd August 2024 at the Green Boardroom.

 

This workshop was vital and engaging in providing all participants with a strong foundation in the fundamentals and skills of debating which would be vital for the competition. This session was conducted by Mr. Darshana Waragoda, LLB(Hons), Attorney-at-Law, a skilled debater who has vast knowledge in the field. 

 

Additionally, it included a highly interactive session on the development of soft skills conducted by Mr. Prasanna Perera, Senior Lecturer attached to the Faculty of Business which had the active participation of everyone present. During the workshop, allocation of opposing teams for the 1st round and mentioning the rules and regulations of the competition took place.

 

The success of the workshop session for the “කථික’24” was further enhanced by sessions of Prof. Shanthi Segarajasingham, Head of the Department of Legal Studies and Ms. Samithri Wanniachy, Lecturer-in-Charge of the Business Law Society, NSBM Green University.
