The Business Communication and Leadership Residential Workshop for NSBM MBA Programmes organized by the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies and Professional Advancement, was held at Cinnamon Hikka Tranz on the 26th of August.  

The first session for the day went beyond traditional education methods to immerse its participants in a transformative journey. Over the course of the session, participants of the NSBM MBA Programme interacted with Mr Vidusha Nathavitharana, an expert in the areas of strategy facilitation, HR strategy development, and leadership training. As a founding member of High5 Consultancy and Training, and a well renowned professional who has conducted assignments and consultations in the international landscape, Mr. Vidusha meticulously guided the participants through hands-on activities to nurture their leadership potential and communication skills.  

The second session of the MBA Residential Workshop offered an immersive and dynamic learning experience by providing its participants a unique opportunity to engage with real-world business scenarios in a competitive environment. The skilled team of resource persons from Luminary Learning Solutions headed by Mr. Anton Thayalan concluded the first day of the residential programme by organizing a carefully curated business simulation workshop encouraging participants to learn through experience. The Workshop’s interactive nature highlighted the importance of teamwork, critical thinking, adaptability, and effective communication in a competitive business environment all while creating an enjoyable learning environment! 

The second and final day of the NSBM MBA Residential Workshop concluded on a high note with the inclusion of an activity-based outbound training planned and executed by Lt. Col. Channa Karunarathne and Team. Participants stepped out of their comfort zones to take on challenges that enhanced problem solving skills and teamwork throughout the fruitful and engaging session, specifically developed to improve group dynamics and overall performance. 

The Workshop was successfully concluded with the participation and active involvement of Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, the Head of Academic Development & Quality Assurance; Dr. Chaminda Wijesinghe, Dean-Faculty of Postgraduate Studies and Professional Advancement; Mr. Lasitha de Silva, Head of Professional Advancement; as well as other esteemed academics.
