“AFSRS 2023”, the first ever Accounting & Finance Student Research Symposium organized by the Department of Accounting & Finance of Faculty of Business was held on the 15th of March 2023 under the theme of “Navigating a Changing Landscape: Exploring Educational, Financial, and Digital Strategies for Accounting and Finance.”

The event was graced by Vice Chancellor, Prof. E.A.Weerasinghe, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Ratnayake, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Bharatha Dodankotuwa, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Ms. Thilini De Silva, Deans and Heads of Other faculties.

The keynote speech was delivered by Prof. A.A.C. Abheysinghe, Senior Lecturer from the Department of Accounting of University of Colombo.

The symposium was initiated to create a forum for students to exchange ideas, unveil concealed knowledge and present their research in the most cutting-edge areas of Accounting and Finance. 13 students presented at the symposium and 4 students exhibited their posters during the event.
