Mr.Deshaja Dewapriya is an industrial product Designer. He is a temporary lecturer for the Departmentof Design studies. He graduated from the Department of Integrated Design, University of Moratuwa. Hehas got First class honors for his Bachelor of design and was awarded the Best Overall Performance Award for the B. Design graduand who has Obtained the OGPA exceeding 3.8 for the final examination and Outstanding leadership Qualities and Interpersonal skills, Active Participation in extra – curricular activities, and entrepreneurship skills for the academic year 2015/2016, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
After graduation, he worked as an instructor & visiting lecturer for the Department of Integrated Design, University of Moratuwa, and also worked as a visiting lecturer for a reputed Private higher educational institute. As a Designer, he has work experience in commercial projects including sustainable mobility. His true passion for Design allowed him to obtain the patent for the first-ever bamboo bicycle in Sri Lanka and several local and international Design awards for packaging and product design. He is also the founder and CEO of yaralawa Design studio. His research interest is based on products, human phycology, and emotions. His research on “Effect of emotional factors to product functionality on hot beverage containers “was published in Faru 2019.
