NSBM Green University extended a warm welcome to the newly enrolled students for September 2022 Intake ceremoniously at the NSBM degree Inauguration Ceremony.
Achieving the highest number of new registrations in the history of NSBM, the new undergraduate intake comprised over 1600 students who selected NSBM to pursue their higher education as a stepping stone to a successful future. Remarkably, it also includes the first-ever batch of students who joined NSBM to follow the newly launched Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree.
As they set off their undergraduate journeys, the NSBM degree Inauguration Ceremony – September 2022 Intake was conducted on 27th September 2022 under six sessions at two dedicated venues of the NSBM premises.
Session 1 – 9.00 am onwards at NSBM Auditorium
Session 2 – 9.30 am onwards at Faculty of Business
Session 3 – 11.00 am onwards at NSBM Auditorium
Session 4 – 11.30 am onwards at Faculty of Business
Session 5 – 2.00 pm onwards at NSBM Auditorium
Session 6 – 2.30 pm onwards at Faculty of Business
The ceremony was graced by the Vice-Chancellor of NSBM – Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, Deputy Vice-Chancellor – Prof. Chaminda Rathanyake, Head of Academic Development & Quality Assurance – Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Deans of five faculties, Heads of the Academic Departments, academic and non-academic staff of NSBM.
Each Session of the ceremony comprised of inspiring Keynote Speeches delivered by renowned personalities: Mr. Supun Weerasinghe – Director/Group Chief Executive Officer, Dialog Axiata PLC, Dr. Shamil Appathurai, Senior Manager – Master Planning & Transmission Planning at Mobitel (Pvt) Ltd, General Daya Rathnayake, 20th Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, former Chairman-Sri Lanka Ports Authority and Current Secretary to the Ministry of Industries and Dr. Harsha Subasinghe – President and CEO at Codegen.
Addressing this memorable occasion, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Head of Academic Development & Quality Assurance, Deans of the faculties and several other senior academics of NSBM congratulated the new batch of students for selecting NSBM to pursue their higher education while providing both students and parents with valuable insights into life at NSBM and the uniqueness of its degree programmes.
