NSBM Sports Fiesta 2025, the annual sporting spectacle of NSBM Green University, reached its thrilling Grand Finale on March 11, 2025, at the NSBM Phase 2 Ground. Spanning three weeks of exhilarating competition, this dynamic event brought together the talent and spirit of university’s finest sportsmen and sportswomen across 15+ sports.

 

The Grand Finale commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the Olympic Lamp and as the day unfolded, the atmosphere was charged with excitement, featuring a lineup of sporting events and vibrant festivities.

 

The Closing Ceremony of the event began with a spectacular band parade, heralding the arrival of the distinguished guests. The event was graced by Mr. Sanjeewa Dharmarathne, Senior DIG In-Charge (Western Province) as the Chief Guest, warmly welcomed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, alongside Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. J. Baratha Dodankotuwa, and the Deans of faculties.

 

The ceremony’s highlights included a martial arts display, calisthenics performance, and academic staff and student relay events. The grand celebration concluded with a prestigious awards ceremony, recognizing the outstanding achievements of participating athletes.

 

Congratulations to Citrine Warriors, for claiming the Overall Championship Title for the 3rd consecutive year!   Meanwhile, the Ruby Adventurers and Saphire Heroes delivered remarkable performances, securing second and third places, respectively.
