The Inaugural Badging Ceremony for the 2025/26 Board of the Association of Software Engineering and the Association of Information Systems was a resounding success! This momentous event, organized by the Department of Software Engineering & Information Systems, Faculty of Computing, marked the official transition of leadership, recognizing the dedication and hard work of both outgoing and incoming board members.

 

The occasion saw the esteemed presence of Dr. Rasika Ranaweera, Dean of the Faculty of Computing, Dr. Mohamed Shafraz, Head of the Department of Software Engineering & Information Systems, along with distinguished faculty members, which added immense value. The ceremony was further enriched by an inspiring address from our guest speaker Mr. Kavindu Kithmin, a Software Engineer – QA at IFS and a proud NSBM alumna, who shared valuable insights into industry trends and professional growth. A special appreciation goes to Mr. Diluka Wijesinghe, Master-in-Charge of the Association of Software Engineering, and Ms. Dharani Rajasinghe, Mistress-in-Charge of the Association of Information Systems, for their continuous guidance and support in shaping these two associations.

 

As part of the ceremony, the outgoing board members of both associations were recognized and presented with certificates as a token of appreciation for their contributions over the past year.
