The Vice Chancellor of NSBM Green University, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, together with the Deputy Vice Chancellor, embarked on an official visit to the University of Plymouth, UK, marking a significant milestone in the long-standing NSBM-Plymouth partnership.
As part of their visit, they had the honour of an inaugural meeting with the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Plymouth, Professor Richard Davies, to celebrate the start of the new year 2025. Warm congratulations were extended to Professor Davies on his new appointment, fostering goodwill and collaboration between the two institutions.
The visit also featured strategic discussions aimed at strengthening existing ties and exploring new opportunities for collaboration. A key focus was on initiatives related to the establishment of the Faculty of Health Sciences at NSBM Phase 2, paving the way for innovative academic programs and research in the health sector.
The visit also featured interactions with senior officials from the University of Plymouth, including Prof. Dafydd Moore, Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor; Ms. Julie Swain, Senior Partnership Manager of Plymouth Global; and Dr. Poorna Gunasekera, Associate Dean (International) of the Faculty of Health.
