The second day of the Campus to Corporate (C2C) Program 2024/2025 unfolded with a series of informative and impactful sessions designed to prepare undergraduates for the corporate world.
The morning began with an engaging session on “How to Prepare a CV” led by Mr. Cheranga Weerawardhana, Assistant Manager of Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding at Hemas Consumer Brands. This session provided invaluable guidance on crafting an effective CV, covering key areas such as language usage, prioritization of relevant segments, structuring, and overall presentation.
The day continued with an inspiring and interactive session on “Personal Grooming and Etiquette” by Ms. Chathumini Karunathileke, Senior Brand Manager at Hemas Consumer Brands. This dynamic session offered participants valuable insights into presenting themselves with confidence, professionalism, and poise, equipping them with skills critical for making a positive impression in the corporate environment.
The evening phase of the second day of the Campus to Corporate (C2C) program featured several other insightful and career-focused sessions, empowering undergraduates with knowledge and guidance for their professional journeys.
It comprised a session on Human Resource Management (HRM) led by Mr. Cheranga Weerawardhana, Assistant Manager of Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding at Hemas Consumer Brands. The session delved into key aspects of HRM, providing a comprehensive understanding of the field and valuable guidance for those aspiring to build successful careers in HRM.
This was followed by an engaging session conducted by Ms. Sanduni Hettiarachchi, Assistant Manager – Logistics at Hemas Consumer Brands. She shared her expertise and insights into the logistics industry, highlighting emerging trends and the wealth of opportunities available in this dynamic field.
The Campus to Corporate session, focusing on LLB students attached to the Department of Legal Studies was conducted by Ms Thamari Senanayake, Attorney-at-Law, Director Public Affairs Communications and Sustainability, Coca Cola Beverages, on the topic “Career Paths available for law students. This session provided the LLB students with a vast knowledge of the various and diverse career opportunities that await them after they step into the legal arena.
The 3rd-year BBM (Hons) Tourism, Hospitality, and Events undergraduates, took part in an insightful session conducted by Mr. Dilum Ediriweera, Manager – Human Resources at Hilton Colombo. The session emphasized the importance of understanding career paths within the industry and making informed decisions to build a productive professional journey.
