AIESEC in NSBM, an integral entity of AIESEC Sri Lanka, in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO), proudly hosted the Youth Speak Forum (YSF) 2024 on October 11th at the NSBM Auditorium. This landmark event brought together 250 school students and over 100 university students from across Sri Lanka, providing a dynamic platform for young leaders to engage in meaningful discussions around pressing global issues.
The forum’s theme centered on two critical Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 8: Decent Work & Economic Growth. The event created a space for participants to share ideas and collaborate on actionable solutions to address these global challenges.

Keynote addresses were delivered by Mr. Erandika Dissanayaka, National Project Coordinator of ILO, and Dr. Thomas Kring, ILO Chief Technical Advisor, setting the stage for thought-provoking discussions. The panel session, featuring distinguished speakers such as Mr. Stefano Merante (ILO Senior TVET/Skills Development Programme Officer), Prof. Nirmalie Pallewatta (Consultant, Quality Assurance Council, University Grants Commission), Ms. Nora Langguth (ILO Junior Professional Officer), Mr. Hasitha Wijesundara (Senior Director, HNB Finance/Team Lead for Trade & Investment at Deloitte), and Mr. Vikum Wijekoon (Country President, AIESEC in Sri Lanka), offered invaluable insights into the evolving landscape of education, employment, and economic growth.
