NSBM Research Council successfully conducted a workshop on 21st August 2024, focused on the importance and utility of ORCID IDs for researchers. The session was led by Prof. Lasith Gunawardena, the Head of the Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce at University of Sri Jayewardenepura, who is an esteemed expert in research management and scholarly communication.
The topic of the workshop was “ORCID IDs: Maximizing Visibility and Discoverability of your Research”. ORCID IDs are increasingly becoming essential for researchers to maintain a unique identifier throughout their academic career, ensuring their work is correctly attributed and accessible. This workshop provided valuable insights into how to effectively utilize ORCID IDs to maximize the research impact.
The session was chaired by Dr. Damayanthi Dahanayake, Head of Research Council, NSBM Green University, and was insightful elaborating that ORCID IDs are unique identifiers that help researchers and academics connect their work with their profile, making it easier to manage and showcase their contributions.
