The Department of Management at NSBM proudly hosted its First-Ever Student Research Symposium on August 15th, 2024 at Green Boardroom, under the theme, “Crossing the Kom Through Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, and Internationalization: From Theory to Reality.” This groundbreaking event marked a significant milestone in university’s commitment to fostering a vibrant research culture among the students, serving as a powerful platform for the next generation of business leaders and scholars to showcase their research and innovative ideas.
The event was graced by the Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Baratha Dodankaotuwa, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Ms. Thilini De Silva, Head of the Department of Management, Ms. Bhasuri Amarathunge, Symposium Chair, Prof. Dushar Dayaratne, Symposium Secretary, Ms. Shehani Joseph, all the academics of the department and the faculty and students. Prof. Pavithra Kailaspathy delivered an engaging keynote address, offering invaluable insights into the evolving business landscape and inspiring our students to continue pursuing academic and professional excellence.
The symposium featured engaging presentations in both article and poster formats, showcasing a wide range of student research. Ruth Perera was awarded Best Article, while Divangani Gangatharan won Best Poster for her outstanding work. The event concluded as a collective success, with contributions from esteemed reviewers, the organizing committee, faculty, staff, and participants, all of whom played a pivotal role in making this symposium a milestone event for NSBM.
