NSBM Green University successfully concluded the inauguration ceremony to officially welcome the newly enrolled batch for the July 2024 Intake of its Degree and Foundation Programmes. The ceremony was held on the 23rd of July 2024 at the NSBM premises under four sessions, bringing together a distinguished gathering of NSBM staff, guests, parents, and students.

The inauguration ceremony marked a notable milestone in the remarkable journey of NSBM Green University, with over 1200 students who embarked on their higher educational pursuits in various Undergraduate and Degree Foundation Programmes, offered by the Faculties of Business, Computing, Engineering, Science and Law.

Hon. Minister of Education, Dr. Susil Premajayantha, participated in the ceremony as the Chief Guest and enlivened the gathering by delivering a motivational speech powered by his futuristic view towards the education sector.

The ceremony was graced with the presence of the Vice Chancellor of NSBM Green University, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head – Academic Development & Quality Assurance, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Deans of the faculties, Heads of the Departments and academics of NSBM.

The ceremony unfolded in four sessions and provided an immersive experience for all the participants. It featured keynote speeches, presentations, and sessions intended to enlighten the new entrants on the basic procedures, operations, and other important matters related to their academic journey at NSBM Green University.

Each session comprised inspiring speeches delivered by esteemed Keynote Speakers for the day; Mr. W. S. Sathyananda, Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development and Housing; Prof. Meththika Suharshini Vithanage, Director, Ecosphere Resilience Research Centre, University of Sri Jayawardhanapura; Mr. Chanuka Wattegama, Policy Researcher and Author; Dr. Srinath Perera, Chief Architect at WSO2. Their insights and experiences brought a unique perspective to the gathering, which instilled a sense of inspiration and motivation in the hearts and minds of new entrants.

At the ceremony, the new entrants were congratulated on selecting NSBM to pursue their higher education and encouraged to benefit from the co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities, state-of-the-art amenities, ultra-modern research facility, and a fully-fledged international university setting at NSBM.
