NSBM Green University proudly hosted the “STEAM Educational Excursion (ISEE): Beyond the School Curriculum” programme in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and National Science Foundation. This programme was specifically designed with the key objective of motivating and creating interest in school students to follow Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) subject streams and creating awareness of the high-end STEAM job market.
As an integral part of this enlightening programme, school students representing all 25 districts of Sri Lanka were selected to visit NSBM Green University as a key destination where they engage in immersive and interactive activities that ignite their passion for future pursuits in STEAM subjects.
The inaugural day of the programme was held on 13th October 2023 and saw the enthusiastic partnership of over 250 students and teachers representing 13 districts. The day unfolded with a series of dynamic and engaging activities, providing participants with valuable insights. Meanwhile, they also received the invaluable opportunity to tour the NSBM Green University premises, witnessing the world-class facilities and unparalleled university life it offers.
Day 1 was graced with the gracious presence of the Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance of NSBM Green University, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Head of Marketing/Senior Lecturer – NSBM, Mr. Venura Colombage, Head of Student Affairs – NSBM, Ms. Aushadarie Kaushalya, Additional Secretary (Information Technology & Digital Education), Dr. Kithsiri Prasanjith Munagama, Director General of National Science Foundation, Dr Sepalika Nayanie Sudasinghe and several other officials representing three institutions.
