Chapter 2 of NSBM Industry Preparation Training (IPT) 2023, the industry transformation programme of NSBM Computing Undergraduates, was officially launched on 21st August 2023.
The Industry Preparation Programme (IPT) is an initiative of the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering – NSBM Faculty of Computing, which is designed to prepare the computing student for a smooth and easy transition to industrial life by equipping them with practical training and theoretical learning under the guidance and inputs of experienced IT professionals from leading IT firms.
Chapter 2 of IPT 2023 is scheduled to be held over two weeks ending on 1st September 2023, comprising a series of informative and practical sessions conducted by a panel of highly credentialed and experienced experts in the IT industry.
The launching ceremony of IPT 2023 was graced by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of NSBM Green University, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Dean of the Faculty of Computing, Dr. Rasika Ranaweera, Head of the Department of Software Engineering, Ms. Pavithra Subashini and other academics of NSBM Faculty of Computing.
On the Day 01 of the programme, Computing students participated in an insightful session conducted by Deputy Vice Chancellor on how NSBM students should become future-ready employees and the Head of the Department of Software Engineering made the students aware of the IPT programme, its objectives and plan. The day also comprised an interactive session that boosted student motivation conducted by Mr. Krishantha Dinesh – Senior Solution Architect, Virtusa Pvt Ltd, and a session conducted by Mr. Akila Panditha, Software Architect, Sysco LABS, on IT Industry overview and expectations.
