Operations and Logistics students of 22.2 Batch Visit Sri Lanka Ports Authority
Undergraduate students enrolled in the BSc (Hons) Operations and Logistics Management degree at NSBM Green University (affiliated with the University of Plymouth), intake 22.2, were given a valuable opportunity to visit the Sri Lanka Ports Authority on 11th July 2023. The visit was organized by the 22.2 Batch Coordinators in collaboration with the Logistics Circle of NSBM and was guided by Ms. Thilini De Silva, the Dean of the Faculty of Business, Mr. Shaja Musthaffa, the Head of the Department of Operations and Logistics, along with lecturers Mr. Praveen Ranaweera and Mr. Maleesha Edirisinghe.
During the visit, the students were accompanied by Mr. Chamara Wijayawickrama, the Junior Manager of Marketing at Sri Lanka Ports Authority. He provided detailed explanations of each container terminal as the students explored them. The students were provided with an opportunity to observe the operations at the Jaya Container Terminal (JCT), East Container Terminal (ECT), and West Container Terminal (WCT) firsthand.
This visit provided the students with a comprehensive educational experience combining theoretical knowledge with real-world industrial exposure. Over sixty undergraduate students had the opportunity to participate, making it a remarkable and educational occasion for learning, exploration, and networking.
